President Trump walked off the Rose Garden podium, and it was really crazy. He called on one reporter but decided she took too long so he tried to pass her and she said “Sir, you called on me” but he was going to be bad-ass and she wasn’t letting it go, so he shut it down. Turned around and walked out.

He had done this once before, but that reason was clear. He didn’t want to answer questions about his sanity after suggesting injecting disinfectants might be effective. So he took no questions that day and left. We got that. What could you say? There was no hiding it anymore. “I see your true colors shinin’ through…” So he walked.

Today he appeared to shut down a presser because a woman reporter respected her colleague as they were in a dialogue with the President and waited for them to finish. The President perceived this as supporting the enemy, and when she didn’t behave when told to stand down, something just melted down in him.

His Twit-tourettes hit him hard over the weekend. I saw one report that the number of tweets he achieved over the weekend came at a pace of one per 17 minutes. All weekend.

They weren’t a string of Happy Mother’s Day sentiments to the many who had been mothers to his children and the one that had released him on the world. They were mad accusations, total fabrications with no supporting justifications. He had done the same thing at Friday’s presser, accusing the Obama administration of committing the most egregious crime in the history of the country.

Unfortunately there were reporters present on Friday, and Phillip Rucker, Pulitzer Prize winner from the Washington Post, asked him what the crime was. The President enlightened everyone. “You know!” Well, that should be enough for anyone. Lock him up! The Twitter Fest was more of the same, but thankfully there were none of those pesky reporters. He was unobstructed and on a roll.

In the meanwhile, Trump’s credibility is at stake in the courts today. The Supreme Court is going to face the question of Presidential privilege as they decide whether or not Congress can see the unredacted Mueller report and attending documents. These will include tax records finally, and some very credible voices believe the case is a slam dunk against POTUS, even with the current make up of the court. Kavanaugh got on the court because of his interpretation of Presidential privilege, so he may be the lone holdout. Keep your fingers crossed.

Capital Hill will also be busy, as the Senate tries to prevent Dr. Fauci from burning the house down. He will be testifying regarding the opening up of the country’s economy, the wisdom of it and the methodology. It is likely to be scathing from the early reporting of his intent. The testimony will be done by video conference, a first for a Senate committee I think.

Last week, Dr. Fauci was scheduled to appear before a House Committee, but the President blocked him from attending. Why? The House was “…full of Trump Haters.” That was the official Administration justification. He can’t appear before the highest law-making body in the land because they didn’t like the President.

This is happening on our watch. This is our own creation. Whether you stayed home because the election was a slam dunk, or you didn’t like Hillary, or thought it would be a hoot to burn the whole thing down, or thought the time was right for the ascension of a third party, whatever fantasy stopped you from preventing this very predictable disaster caused this. He is President with your help.

Some of you are unteachable.

I’m not referring to His Base. They are unreachable and permanently damaged by this abuse of their faith. Nothing is going into that abyss and saving anything. They are lost.

But the progressives who find Biden understandably wanting are organizing to be as tone deaf to the needs of the country in this moment as they were in 2016. In their eyes they were successful then, preventing the DNC from annointing a candidate that simply didn’t meet their standards. The other guys may be floating a hateful cretin, but that didn’t mean we had to offer a sub-standard candidate too.

Congratulations?

You can help to undermine Biden, but that won’t elect a saviour. Bernie won’t upend the campaign. He knows that. Neither will any other annointed one. I have friends on Facebook who are assuring everyone that Biden is the sure way to re-elect Trump, and they provide opinion piece support from left wing sources I have never even heard of. All sides have their angry, dark corners.

This is not a defense of Biden. I voted against him in the primary here in Virginia, and I find him to be a time-tested cliche in Democratic politics. Old school tactics refined to a rich patina.

My vote for him in November will be the easiest decision of my lifetime.

I’m trying to imagine a candidate that would make this decision difficult for me, but the creatures I come up with are like a historical who’s who of evil. Trump v. Goebbels? I might go through a few pencil erasers with that one. What to do, what to do? Would it matter?

I would love to see comments of how far down the evolutionary chain you would have to go to find a challenger that would make this A/B decision difficult for you. Where does the calculus change?

If your answer is Joe Biden, we clearly have different priorities.
